Summary: Due to a court ruling, NewJeans is prohibited from engaging in independent activities. The group sent a heartfelt message to fans, promising they will come back stronger.
NewJeans has announced a temporary halt to all independent activities. This decision follows a court ruling that prevents them from participating in music projects, songwriting, live performances, and commercial engagements without the approval of their management company, Adore.
On the 23rd, the group headlined at Complexcon Hong Kong, held at the AsiaWorld-Expo. During this performance, the members introduced themselves using only their individual names rather than using their official stage names, NJZ or NewJeans. Instead of performing their hit songs, each member took to the stage for a solo act and then presented their new song, "Pit Stop." After the performance, the members remarked that today's stage might be their last for now, honoring the court's decision.
They shared an emotional message with fans: "We understand that our support may feel disappointed, but this measure is meant to protect our future. We promise to return stronger and more determined. This is not the end—our journey continues."
Earlier, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Adore’s petition. The court granted a preliminary injunction designed to safeguard the company’s rights. As a result, without Adore’s consent, the members are not allowed to independently compose music, perform, negotiate or sign advertising contracts, or participate in any commercial activities.
